Made in America

Reject the capitalistic bullshit

You won’t capitalize on me

Free enterprise

always costs

The poverty-stricken

welfare recipient

was never meant to be rich

their arbitrary lives

traded in for profit

I pledge allegiance to the flag

that never pledged allegiance to me

But denied me my wealth, culture, self-respect

Robbed me of my history

And attempted to acculturate me

To white America’s society

Divided my people

and continue to keep us

in psychological slavery

So I refute your rhetoric

Uncle Sam

trying to convince me of an enemy overseas

and elude me from the terrorists

who work with me

Rosewood, Black Wall Street

Project Northwoods

The Tuskegee experiments

They didn’t happen overseas

All bear

Made in the U.S. of A.

This is true American history

So don’t enlist my brothers

Fathers and sons

to fight for your country

when just 3 days ago

They couldn’t get a job

In your company

And don’t ask me to love America

When America damn sure

Don’t love me

Over 150 years after slavery

And we still aren’t free

Just free enough

to work and spend

continuing to make white folks wealthy
